JAKARTA - Indonesia government through Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) decided 1 Syawal 1438 Hijriah fell on Sunday, June 25, 2017.
This decision is result of trial of isbat (determination, red) at beginning of Syawal 1438 H month at the Office of Ministry of Religious Affairs, Jakarta, Saturday (24/5).
"Thus, tomorrow morning (Saturday) we will perform Eid Fitri prayer. We have successfully agreed, starting tonight we have entered 1 Syawal 1438 Hijriah," said Minister of Religion, Lukman Hakim Saifuddin in press conference at of Ministry of Religious Affairs Office.
The hearing was chaired by Minister of Religious Affairs, Lukman Hakim Saifuddin and Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), KH Ma'ruf Amin and Chairman of Commission VIII House of Representative, Ali Taher.
The Isbat assembly also attended by ambassadors of friendly countries, Supreme Court (MA), Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), National Aeronautics and Space Agency (LAPAN).
Then, the Geospatial Information Agency (BIG), Bosscha Institute of Technology Bandung, Planetarium, Falak experts from a number of Islamic community organizations, echelon I and II Ministry officials and team of reckoning and rukyat Ministry of Religious Affairs.
