JAKARTA - Tour bus companies that are often the cause of deadly accidents must be sanctioned firmly.
Member of Commission V House of Representatives, M Nizar Zahro urged the tour bus owners to be subject to strict sanctions. He also regretted the occurrence of tourist bus accidents in Bogor this morning.
"If necessary, the operating license is revoked," said Nizar, Sunday (30/4).
Nizar said, tourism buses that had an accident due to loss brake worth investigating the KIR test.
Under Article 48 to Article 55 of Law No. 22/2009 on Road Traffic and Transportation, KIR test shall be conducted on public passenger vehicles, bus cars, special freight cars, trailers and public transport trucks operated on public roads.
"Do not ever do a KIR test, or when doing KIR test, not through proper procedures," Nizar guessed.
Commission V House of Representatives will also call the Minister of Transportation to conduct an evaluation.
"I immediately convey to the chairman of Commission V to call the Minister of Transportation," said Nizar again.
He continued, the calling o f the Minister of Transportation in a joint working meeting with Commission V is not only related to bus accidents that often occur lately. The meeting will also discuss preparations ahead of Idul Fitri.
Because, number of vehicles that will be going home in Lebaran much more than during the long holiday season as it is today.
"The potential for accidents is also biger. Therefore, Commission V will conduct an evaluation," Nizar said.
Separately, the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) promised to give any sanction to any person or transportation company that ignores the factors of addressability
Head of Communications and Public Affairs Bureau Kemenhub, Julius Adravida Barata said, his side deplore the occurrence of the event and said the deep depth.
"Kemenhub has requested that the victims be handled properly, of course we regret this incident and express a deep sense of concern," said Julius in Jakarta, Sunday (30/4).
According to him, Kemenhub has lowered the Director General of Transportation and Multimodal Directorate, General of Land Transportation in coordination with the police to investigate cause of the accident.
"The officers have been asked to improve situation by removing obstacles and restoring traffic at the scene," he said.
Julius continued, coordination conducted with local Transportation Department by conducting examination of all bus fleet, for all fleet of every bus company both bus Inter City Inter-Province and Tourism.
It also coordinated with police related sanctions.
"We will process them, whether it's a person or a corporation if a criminal offense is found in this incident. In accordance with the authority, administrative sanctions will be given to the transport company which ignores addressing factors," he said.
As is known, the deadly accident occurred again in Puncak Bogor-Cianjur, Sunday afternoon (30/4). This accident involves vehicles type Avanza Silver B 1608 BKV and tourism bus with B 7058 BGA. The accident also involves two-wheeled vehicles, one pickup truck and another Avanza type vehicle. 11 people were killed in that deadly accident.
