JAKARTA - Information and news related to the certification of the preachers (khatib) that viral through social media is a hoax. This assertion is conveyed Head of Information and Public Relations Ministry of Religious Affairs, Mastuki.
"I'm sure the info preacher certification which viral in social media is false information or hoax," said Mastuki in Jakarta, Monday (6/2).
According Mastuki, Ministry of Religious Affairs would not certify the preacher and also will not interfere in the sermon material. Responding to suggestions and feedback from the community, Ministry is considering standardizing Friday preacher.
The purpose of standardization, Mastuki said, is to provide the minimum qualification criteria or competencies that must be owned by a Friday preacher that the sermon was delivered by experts, as well as the terms and its pillars. In practice, the standardization will also not be formulated in the Ministry because it is the domain of ulema.
"Just ulema who has the authority, the authority, provide standards, limits what kind of competence that must be met by a preacher in delivering Friday sermon," he said.
"Determination of standardization preacher, fully competence of ulema, not domain ministry, we only as a facilitator," he added.
Related to that, further Mastuki, the Ministry of Religion Affair still capture the aspirations and input from the community. End of January, ministry has invited the leaders of the MUI, NU, Muhammadiyah, Islamic organizations and several faculty preaching to sit down with aspiration.
Earlier, Minister of Religious Affairs, Lukman Hakim Saifuddin said the government will not interfere in the content of the Friday sermon. According to him, government is a facilitator, so it will only facilitate the public to respond to the aspirations which growing.
"The government took the position not want to intervene in the content of Friday sermons," said Lukman, in Jakarta, last week.
Lukman said the sermon material fully authorized preacher.
