JAKARTA - Raudiah Elva Ningsih, 37 year old women expecting to deliver twins children, but when she left the Harapan Jayakarta Hospital in East Jakarta last week, she only with one baby.
Raudiah is now alleging that one her babies was stolen shortly after she gave birth by C-section on May 8, while the hospital is adamant she did not give birth to twins.

Raudiah claimed two ultrasound examinations in January and March had both shown she was carrying twins.

"A nurse scolded me when I asked where my babies were. I couldn't do anything since they kept me in the operating theater. Another nurse came up to me later and whispered in my ear, 'Ma'am, no need to worry',"
said Raudiah, recently.

National Commission for Child Protection chairman, Arist Merdeka Sirait asked the hospital to provide a chronology of Raudiah's C-section delivery to clear out the issue, adding that the commission will also provide legal aid for her.

“The family has requested our help to find the missing baby. The commission will back her up, we will also offer her legal assistance,” Arist said.

The commission will dig deeper to see if the hospital might face possible criminal charges over the incident.

Harapan Jayakarta Hospital Advisory Board member Dr. Hermawan Saputra said according to medical examinations conducted at the hospital, Raudiah was not carrying twins.

“As for the other two ultrasound results (that indicated Raudiah would give birth to twins), which were conducted in another hospital—the Health Agency is the only one with the authority to interpret them. In our medical opinion, Rudiah did not give birth to twins,” Hermawan told on Friday (17/6).

However, Raudiah so far still has not filed a police report about the incident.
