JAKARTA - Upstream Oil and Gas Special Unit (SKK Migas) said it had received reports of Chevron Pacific Indonesia plan related to oil and gas companies from the United States (US) was to conduct layoffs. They said at least 1,200 employees in Indonesia will be dismissed.
"Well, this great Chevron (number of employees laid off). That (Chevron) has filed 1,200 people," said Chief of SKK Migas, Amen Sunaryadi at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Monday (2/1).
He explained that Chevron's decision to lay off employees will be gradual. Early stage, namely voluntarily. That is, employees are asked to voluntarily resign from his job.
"(Laid off) gradually. So, the stages began from offered a voluntary. Well later we count how many are retreating," he added.
The second stage, continued the former Vice Chairman of the Commission, the early retirement procedure will be simplified. So, so far it has not been able to ascertain how long the Chevron will conduct layoffs of employees in the country.
