JAKARTA - Hope of Indonesia in final Indonesia Open 2017 only stay in Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir. This mixed doubles pair became representative of Indonesia after defeating Malaysian players, Chan Peng Soon/Peck Yen Wei 21-13, 21-14.

Playing neatly, Tontowi/Liliyana nightly appearance continues to control the game from the beginning of the game. Tontowi also played aggressively in front of net.

"We know Chan is an experienced player, we've been studying this new couple's match video. Chan did a lot of covering the field. Although it was crowded, they were depressed and difficult to get out of the pressure," said Liliyana.

"We are quite satisfied with today's performance, we play with focus and concentration. I can reduce my error which is usually very much. The enemy is hard to grow. Hopefully tomorrow we can perform better," added Tontowi.

Until now, Tontowi/Liliyana never won Indonesia Open title. Both of them stepped into the final, but failed.

In 2012 they were defeated by Sudket Prapakamol/Saralee Thoungthongkam (Thailand). In 2011, Tontowi/Liliyana was also to the final and defeated by Zhang Nan/Zhao Yunlei (China).

In the final round, Tontowi/Liliyana will face first seed Zheng Siwei/Chen Qingchen of China.

"Opponents for tomorrow is not easy, they are young players who are on fire, spirit, have speed and power. We should be able to apply the right pattern. Hopefully we can play better and love the champion for Indonesia," said Liliyana.

In women's double, Anggita Shita Awanda/Ni Ketut Mahadewi Istarani failed to move into the final after beating Chen Qingchen/Jia Yifan of China 21-12, 21-17.
