Alleged Monopoly of PT Tirta Investama Trial Soon

JAKARTA - Alleged monopolistic practices PT Tirta Investama (Danone) which is being handled by Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU) will enter the trial stage soon .
"The initiative was taken after seeing in the field there is publication by PT Tirta Fresindo Jaya against PT Danone (Tirta Investama)," explained Director Enforcement of KPPU, Goprera Panggabean in Jakarta, recently.
Goprera explained, the alleged violation of the Law of Monopoly by producers mineral water Aqua has already had more than two evidences so that it can proceed the investigation process can get to the stage of the trial.
If in the trial, this producer of Aqua found guilty, they must pay maximum fine of Rp25 billion. So far, KPPU has acted neutrally. This institution has taken effective steps related to the open publication of Le Minerale to Aqua, through coverage in a number of national media.
This issue involves KPPU in order that fraudulent actions harmful to one party in the business do not occur in the world of commerce in Indonesia. Referring also to Law 5/1999 on Prohibition of Monopolistic Practices and Unfair Business Competition, KPPU has taken concrete steps to protect small to large traders.
This case started from PT Tirta Fresindo Jaya (TFJ) which sent a summons to KPPU related to the alleged monopolistic action by PT Tirta Investama (Danone) in October 2016.
TFJ party delivered the findings on the ground, Danone banned a number of stores to sell Le Minerale. Allegedly, they threatened to lower the status and facilities, originally from Star Outlet (SO) to retail against traders who sell Le Mineralle. Furthermore, KPPU moved quickly by collecting evidence of infringement conducted by PT Tirta Investama.
Previously, Danone Indonesia has denied allegations of PT Tirta Fresindo Jaya (TFJ) about the practice of alleged monopoly.
"Of course we argue, evidence of this accusations is unclear. Because it will enter the legal process, we can not comment much on the allegations," said Arif Mujahidin, Corporate Communications Director of Danone Indonesia as quoted from Vivanews.com.
