Indonesian Fashion Stylist Reveals Facts of Batik Competition in US

LOS ANGELES - Actually, presence of Indonesian batik is quite acceptable and many United States (US) citizens preferred. Not only by ordinary citizens, but also by artists.
"Batik is quite famous here. I'm understand that, from artists there is Heidi Klum, Jessica Alba, Reese Witherspoon, Gwen Stefani likes (batik) it," said Dela Dewi, fashion stylist from Indonesia who is now a career in Los Angeles, US.
Dela continued, Indonesian batik quite compete with batik from Africa. She was only slightly regretted if many US citizens still do not know if batik is a native of Indonesia.
"The Americans know well that the Africans wear batik called batik Africa. It is very unfortunate, but we all know the real batik was originally from Indonesia, from island of Java. The Americans are more familiar with the term batik from Africa than batik from Indonesia," said founder of FashionFrequency.com in conversation via e-mail, Friday (31/3).
However, Dela still feels proud because batik became an inspiration for many fashion designers in US.
"There is also the American famous fashion designer, Michael Kors incorporate motif for design of swimsuit cover and Diane von Furstenberg has also been issued fashions with kaftan silk and chiffon with modified batik print," said woman who has appeared at Los Angeles Style Fashion Week 2017.
For future, she has a plan to help provide information on the American, especially in Los Angeles that is necessary for young Indonesian fashion designer.
"I see so many young Indonesian fashion designer gifted with the work of fashion design. It is unfortunate if they do not try to market to other continents," she said.
