JAKARTA - Saudi Arabia's King Salman is expected to sign 10 agreements during his visit to Indonesia, with a focus on combating militant group Islamic State (ISIS). This thing kingdom's ambassador to Indonesia told to Reuters on Tuesday (28/2).
"There are a lot of MOUs (memorandum of understanding) to be signed here. The most important is anti-terrorism because we find that we should work together to defeat ISIS," he said, using one of the acronyms for Islamic State.
The authorities in Indonesia, an officially secular state with the world's largest Muslim population, have grown increasingly concerned after a series of attacks over the past year blamed on supporters of ISIS.
Saudi Arabia and Indonesia will also work together on other areas, such as oil and gas and education, Alshuaibi said.
The Saudi king, who on Sunday kicked off a month-long Asian tour to build ties and seek investment opportunities, will be in Indonesia March 1-12, envoy Osama Mohammad Abdullah Alshuaibi said.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia, as he said, quite satisfied and confident Indonesia would be able to secure King Salman in Indonesia.
Deputy Chief of Police, Commissioner General Syafruddin has explained in detail to the ambassadors about the security plan Raja Salman and his entourage.
"Hopefully, the plan this visit went so well that Saudi-Indonesian relationship the better," said Osama as they came into the Indonesian Police Headquarters, on Monday (27/2).
Syafruddin said police had set up 10 thousand members for security in three locations: in Jakarta, Bogor, and Bali.
Police officers on duty in Jakarta about 2 thousand people, made up of various elements. Security was called open and closed. While in Bogor there are 2,252 personnel on duty, they are composed of various elements of the military and police.
"In Bali at least 5,000 security elements," said Syafruddin.
He hoped the visit was conducted properly and a Saudi prince and the king could return safely and well.
"For us, the security affairs of the king is very important. Therefore, I would like to thank Mr. Komjen Syafruddin on the whole preparation which already done," said Osama.
