South Sulawesi Fertilizer Ready to 'Shake' National and Malaysia Market

JAKARTA - The length of the bureaucracy not only applies to matters related to policies or regulations, but also applies in the distribution of fertilizer to farmers in the countryside. Above this, Andi Undru Mario, man from Wajo, South Sulawesi moved to producing and running a fertilizer business named Super Tani Indonesia (STI). Formulated knowledge in the field of chemical compounds during period of education in military, and the forging of a farm boy from South Sulawesi make Andi capable of being formulators and perpetrator fertilizer business.
"The farmer was very hopeful to fertilizers. During this time farmers need for fertilizer is not yet complete. That should be on a per hectare it took ten sacks only be two sacks. Therefore, I will do two things that are real, first of this work will I donated to society. Secondly, I would guard the rights of peoples of Wajo up to the level of farmers," said Andi in Jakarta, recently.
In it, he admitted to not mess around. He was promised that in the next five years, he would give free the STI fertilizer to the Wajo citizens.

"Whatever happens, I will give free my fertilizer at Wajo community for the next five years," said this former Army officer.
From a business standpoint, man who familiarly called AUM is not worried about losing money. While still scale home industry, but its fertilizer business is well known throughout Sulawesi.
"The farmers, especially those living in Bone, Soppeng, Wajo and Sidrap already feel the benefits and advantages of STI fertilizer," he said.
Although nationwide, fertilizers which has received recognition as a flagship product from Ministry of Agriculture (Deptan) in 2009 could not be up to the public, Andi optimistic soon, his products can compete at the national level.
"Yes, because of the bureaucracy that was the cause. We have new small businesses. But we can be optimistic. Currently our fertilizer has entered into Java and Papua," said the former chairman of the socialization of food security program at Sulawesi region.
Even Andi is now to explore the Malaysian market. His non organic fertilizer will be thrown into Malaysia next year.
"The exploratory been done over one year," said Andy.
STI fertilizer business itself has been established 14 years ago. From a home industry, Andi business now has a turnover of billions of rupiah.
"Companies we start from zero. Over 14 years of pioneering from home industry, then the CV to be a PT," he explained.

Andi was determined to be able to answer what the difficulties farmers.
"I want to be a business builder for agriculture. I hope Indonesia agriculture can rise and prosper," he concluded.
