JAKARTA - Youth and Sports Minister (Menpora) Imam Nahrawi had extraordinary planned. He wants to bring Jose Mourinho to coach the Indonesia national football team.
"This discourse has been discussed with the President Joko Widodo and Chairman of the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI), Erick Thohir. Although it is not an easy matter," said Imam Nahrawi in Kemenpora building, Jakarta on Monday (9/5).
Imam also said, that apart from MoU, the name of Jose Mourinho, he also intends to have a second option that is Guus Hiddink to coach the national team.
That consideration because this former Porto coach, inexperienced coached the national team, while the current Chelsea coach, Guus Hiddink considered more experienced in dealing with the national team.
"In addition, Mourinho contract value is estimated Rp250 billion for the year, while Hiddink is still there underneath," said Imam.
He also mentions the reason is because the discourse wants up grade team achievement at the international level. And, hired world class foreign coach also not easy.
"When the national team qualified foreign trained person must then an assistant coach of Indonesia, for the experience," he said.
Meanwhile, related to achievement of national football today, Imam reminded all parties to be patient related revocation decision freezing the PSSI.
"We would like to see the seriousness of all parties in the case of revocation of PSSI, because it also must be careful in meeting the requirements," said Imam.
Imam also explained that the lifting of this hold has become one of the requirements of FIFA. And as much as possible the lifting of a freeze implemented before the FIFA Congress held in Mexico on May 12, 2016, it was at the request of FIFA itself.
"There are some things that prompted FIFA through a letter sent to the Secretary of State some time ago, and we want everything in accordance with the will of FIFA," he said.
