LEICESTER - There are name of celebrity behind Leicester City. Yeah..he turned out bet for Leicester City to win the Premier League this season. Not much indeed amount of money at stake, but at least it could be a unique story behind Leicester City. So who is he?
You might wondered how Hanks can turned out bet for Leicester. At the premiere for his latest film, A Hologram For The King, Hanks told a reporter that he was feeling less down about his relegated Aston Villa club because he placed a 100-pound bet ($146) on Leicester to win at the beginning of the season.
Pressed by the reporter on the red carpet, Hanks backed off a bit, saying, "Maybe I did, maybe I didn't."
Hanks' publicist, Michelle Margolis, told ESPN she couldn't get us closer to the answer, but if Hanks did do it -we suspect it was a joke- it would be the single largest bet at the 5,000-1 odds.
Hanks, well known for his leading roles in Forest Gump, Saving Private Ryan and Toy Story, first revealed he was a Villa fan in 2001 and has frequently sported a claret a blue scarf while attending red carpet events.
Villa's drop into the Championship was confirmed following a 1-0 defeat by Manchester United earlier this month. It marks the Birmingham club's first demotion since 1987 and adds an exclamation point to their demise over the past few years.
Hanks, however, is optimistic about Villa's chances of bouncing straight back. He said to the BBC: 'This is a message to all the claret and blue: hang on.' The two-time Academy Award winner added: 'There's not a club in the world that hasn't experienced this and there isn't a club in the world that hasn't fought back.
'Aston Villa will see their destinies through; hang on, don't give up, wear the scarves, come on.'
Villa, rooted to the bottom of the table with just 16 points from 35 fixtures, face Watford away at Vicarage Road on Saturday.
