Selling Patterned Quran Doormat, Two Stores in Johor Examined

JOHOR - Alleged attempts to insult the religion of Islam through the use of verses in the Qur'an in various fittings and community needs also occur Malaysia. More recently, Muslims in Malaysia back shocked by the circulation doormat with paper Quran patterned.
Doormats are known to circulate in Johor Baru, Malaysia. Two shops selling doormats patterned Qur'an are now being investigated by the Ministry of Religious Johor.
"We have taken action against two stores that sell doormat using Quran as adornments. And this is clearly an act of insulting and harassing the Muslims," said Abd Mutalip Abd Rahim, the staff of the Ministry of Religious Johor as quoted from page Siakapkeli Friday (5/2).
The Ministry of Religious Johor take tough action by seizing all doormats patterned Quran from two stores each store Taman Johor Jaya and Taman Teratai.
"A total of 360 doormat using coatings contains verses of the Quran confiscated. The doormat produced in Malacca and sold in Johor," he said.
Meanwhile, President of the Union of Youth Unite Princess Malaya (PERIMAU), Mohd Ridwan Othman said many of those who reported the discovery of a doormat patterned Quran to PERIMAU.
"To all those who market the product, please, do not make anything that could provoke trouble. The issue is very sensitive, and the parties concerned to immediately resolved. Do not let this incident happen again," he said.
