KUALA LUMPUR - "Snares of love" syndicate are deceiving Malaysian women increasingly widespread, the mastermind of local residents and trace the ways used Africa love syndicate.
The syndicate allegedly also use the services of "messenger account" to facilitate the victim's money was transferred without their identity known to police. They use social pages to get acquainted with the affair, especially with class single mothers and spinsters, Harian Metro reported on Thursday.
Deputy Director of Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Section, Datuk Wira Hamza Taib said the number of fraud cases continues to increase and police also found fraudulent activities orchestrated man local residents.
"Snares of love" crime masterminded no longer a Africa man, but also made the local men who imitate the deception in cyberspace, said Hamza Taib.
"Victims of this scam is usually the women who are easily distracted or deceived by the promise of love to offer this syndicate," he said.
"Even more surprising, the majority of victims are duped not know the suspect but could give a lot of money," he continued.
According to him, the more complex the crime and the suspect would use various means and channels of social media to trap victims.
Loss due to the fraudulent actions during January to November 2015 totaled 200 million ringgit (Rp634 billion), three times higher than in 2014 recorded a loss of 52.3 million ringgit (Rp165 billion).
