JAKARTA - Vice Chairman of the United Nations Committee for Palestine (CEIRPP), Desra Percaya asserts, the issue of Jerusalem by the Israeli occupation of the territory is not a religious conflict, but a pure provocation of Israel.
"We should be aware of this fact and reject efforts to convince us to translate this conflict in religious views," he said in closing International Conference on Jerusalem in Jakarta today (15/12).
The position of Jerusalem as a holy city for the people of three religions: Islam, Christianity and Judaism, have been used by some to lead public opinion to inter-religious conflict, while Israel constantly occupy the region.
