Bandung Become Pilot Project For World Bank Open Auction System

BANDUNG - Bandung city will be the pilot project for open auction system (open contracting) initiated by the World Bank. World Bank will help the procurement system integration projects and open auction that has been owned by the City Government of Bandung today.

Deputy Mayor of Bandung, Oded M Danial received a visit from World Bank delegation at City Hall Bandung, Thursday (19/11). The delegation consisted of the World Bank Team Leader, Marcela Rozo and Contracting and Contracting Team Member, Abdulaye Fabregas. They wanted to know about the openness of the procurement and auction system.

Marcela Rozo said, open contracting an information disclosure system in terms of transparency and accountability with regard to contracts relating to government procurement of goods or services. The system is useful for preventing the occurrence of irregularities or corruption.

"World Bank present today to support and see the city of Bandung as a pilot in Indonesia. How to be more effective, efficient and transparent use of data provision for better service," said Marcelo.

Oded explained, by the existence of the open contracting to improve accountability and transparency in the procurement of goods and services within the Government of Bandung.

In the framework of the implementation of the pilot project, Oded also said that if the Bandung municipal government will make efforts and systematic measures. One of them by integrating systems and BIRMS LPSE on facilitation LKPP.

"Hopefully LKPP facilitation and support from the World Bank can be done on an ongoing basis. So the application system will be integrated and can run well," said Oded.

At the same place, Head of Procurement Services Unit (ULP) Bandung municipal government, Smith Sopandi, said Bandung has the advantages of open-contracting matter than other cities and districts in Indonesia.

According to him, in other areas, open new limited contractingnya auction over USD 200 million, through the Electronic Procurement Service (LPSE). Bandung itself to openness in the auction and data acquisition information to the designation position and direct procurement through BIRMS.

"We have already done is the Public Procurement Information System Plan (Syrup) in the LPP has integration with BIRMS," he stressed.
