Ten Thousand Baznas Scholarship Recipients Targeted in 2020

JAKARTA - In 2020, ten thousand scholarship recipients are targeted by the National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas).
Vice Chairman of Baznas, Dr. Zainulbahar Noor mentioned, Baznas annually distributes scholarships to about 1,000 elementary school students to university.
"We hope the target of 10,000 alumni (Baznas scholarship recipients) is achieved in 2020," said Zainulbahar in Jakarta, Monday (7/8).
He said that as a state institution authorized to manage zakat funds, infak and alms nationally, Baznas continues to be an important part in improving the Indonesia Human Development Index (IPM) through this scholarship program.
In the series of Zakat Festival and Baznas Award 2017 on 23-25 August 2017, 100 Baznas scholarship recipients will be in graduation.
"At the peak of the event (Zakat Festival) we will graduate Baznas scholarship recipients from seven state universities," he said.
100 students of Baznas scholarship consist of Strata (S1) Universitas Indonesia (UI), Gadjah Mada University (UGM), Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Padjajaran University (Unpad), Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Surabaya Institute of Technology (ITS) ), And Open University (UT).
For Master (S2) and Doctoral (S3) scholarships from UI, University of Ibnu Khaldun (UIK), Institute of Al-Qur'an Science (IIQ) Jakarta, State Islamic University Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, UIN Sunan Kalijaga, and UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.
Then from UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim, UIN Walisongo Semarang, Islamic University 45 Bekasi, Islamic University of Asy Syafi'iyah, University of Az-Zahra, and Institute of Higher Education of Al Qur'an (PTIQ) Jakarta.
