Four Factions Walk Out, House's Decide 20-25 Percent of Presidential Threshold

JAKARTA - Plenary meeting House of Representative (DPR) which discuss Bill on Elections Law finally ends on Friday (21/7) morning. Option A relates to five crucial issues of the electoral bill drafted by acclamation in the plenary.

Packet A, 20-25 percent presidential threshold, 4 percent parliamentary threshold, open election system, seat allocations per 3-10 electoral district and pure vote conversion method.

House of Speaker, Setya Novanto who only accompanied by Deputy of House, Fahri Hamzah decides this.
Therefore, three other House's deputy chairpersons, Fadli Zon (Gerindra), Agus Hermanto (Democrat) and Taufik Kurniawan (PAN) took a walk-out action with their fellow colleagues.

amely Democrat Party, Gerindra Party, Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) and National Mandate Party (PAN) walk out from plenary meeting room on Thursday (20/7) night.

Those who walk out want the presidential threshold to be wiped out in the Election Bill. While the factions who want to vote are those who want a presidential threshold of 20-25 percent.

They are Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), Hanura Party, Golkar Party, Nasdem Party, United Development Party (PPP) and National Awakening Party (PKB) f
action.

Vice Chairman of Parliament, Fadli Zon (Gerindra), Taufik Kurniawan (PAN), Agus Hermanto (Democrat) also took walk out
action. Vice Chairman of House Fahri Hamzah had left the chair of the plenary meeting.

However, a few minutes later Fahri sat back accompanying Chairman of the House, Setya Novanto.

"Actually I'm in option B. But I do not go walk out," said Fahri Hamzah.

Fahri argued, plenary session of the House of Representatives is led by two House leaders.

For information, five package options in the Draft Law on Election into two options, namely package A and B. This is the result of a long lobbying conducted by the fraction in the House since Thursday (20/7)
afternoon.

The package A is Presidential Threshold of 20-25 percent, the 4 percent Parliamentary Threshold, open election system, allocation of seats per electoral district: 3-10 and the pure conversion method.

While packet B is Presidential Threshold 0 percent, Parliamentary Threshold 4 percent, open election system, seat allocation per 3-10 electoral district and voice quota conversion method.
