JAKARTA - Event of Indonesia Open 2017 today gave a surprise. Praveen Jordan/Debby Susanto halted in first round. The seventh seed from Indonesia was lost through a fierce rubber game match 21-15, 19-21, 11-21 over Mathias Christiansen/Sara Thygesen.
This is quite surprising Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir. Liliyana knows Praveen/Debby's defeat while still at the hotel. Heavy burden will automatically be borne by player who is familiarly called Owi/Butet.
But this Indonesia's flagship mixed doubles claim not want to think too many things beyond game which they have to face.
"I was shocked when saw Livescore. Owi and I were still at the hotel and it turned out that Praveen/Debby lost, but this did not necessarily make us feel overwhelmed, we just want to focus on every game we face," Liliyana on Wednesday (13/6).
"We do not want think about to many things beyond the game that we are going to face, it may also be time for the other mixed doubles to show off and become Indonesia's mainstay," she added.
So far the mixed doubles sector has passed five of its representatives in second round. One game has secured tickets to the quarter-finals.
