JAKARTA - Challenge comes not to be shunned, but to be confronted and conquered. That's what Maria Novita Johannes did.
The world of performing arts that women who familiar in Mhyajo has been acting as an artist who is filled with creative ideas requires her not to stop learning to face big and complicated challenges.
Now.. a program of international performing arts specializing in an annual program of world-class art institutes, Lincoln Center, US has been waiting for this Catha Mardhika's award winner from Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.
Not easily escaped as the only representative from Indonesia. Mhyajo had to brainstorm to design and submit a 20 page application file of answers to the seven questions that were the requirements and the selection process.
Not just an application of answers, he also sent an 80 page show in English language script, as well as video recording of his work so far.
But all that was not in vain, she finally escaped in February 2017. Mhyajo was officially became the first Indonesian to pass the 70
creative performers from 33 countries, to follow Lincoln Center's annual program.
In Lincoln Center later, she will be joined in a group with participants from Russia, Uganda, Etopia, Poland, and India. In this 12th event, Mhyjo also became one of four participants to get full scholarship facility from a foundation that was initiated by Lincoln Center.
"I have nothing to loose, for me it is now or never," said Mhyajo in Jakarta, Tuesday (6/6).
One and a half months he will be in the Lincoln Center to share creative ideas, exchange ideas and gain the art performance to be brought back to Indonesia.
"From there.. I want to keep moving, continue to provoke my creativity. Don't want to stop fast, complacent. I have to keep growing more," she said.
About the world behind the scenes that are now in the process, this energetic woman claimed to be 'addicted'. Although sometimes the main difficulty in this profession come and go.
"Addicted to deadlines that require me to think out of the box. Corporating the team either in front or behind the scenes is not easy. We are required to be quick in making decisions," she concluded.
