Floods Soak 54 Points at Jakarta

JAKARTA - This morning, some areas in Jakarta rained. Dozens point in the capital region and surrounding areas flooded monitored. The water level varies between 10-150 centimeters.
National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) noted, there are at least 54 points in Jakarta affected by floods. Flooding also soak the area of Bekasi and Tangerang
"In South Jakarta (11 points), East Jakarta (29 points) and North Jakarta (14 points). While in Cipinang Melayu, East Jakarta varies between 70 to 150 centimeters," said Head of BNPB, Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, Tuesday (21/2).
"Flooding is mainly due to urban drainage are not able to accommodate the flow of the surface. It is also caused overflowing of rivers that rise Alert 1 and 2, so that the flow of surface drainage can be poured into the river," added Sutopo.

As observed by TMC Polda Metro Jaya official Twitter account, Tuesday (21/2), West Boulevard toward Mall of Indonesia, North Jakarta, flooded 40 centimeters from 7:02 pm.
TMC Polda inform puddle back 10 minutes later in Gatot Subroto road in front of Balai Kartini which leads to the exact Pancoran, South Jakarta, with a height of 20 centimeters of water.
In West Jakarta, inundation also occurred at several points, among them Daan Mogot road precisely in front Samsat, West Jakarta with a height of 40 centimeters.
Stagnant water also impact on the closing round of Trisakti University in Grogol, West Jakarta which affects the density of traffic.

Meanwhile, in East Jakarta, one of puddles which occurred in front of ITC Cempaka Mas shopping center and a number of other points.
Floods also have an impact on teaching and learning in schools, one junior high school 123 North Jakarta that its students should be repatriated due to waterlogging.
