JAKARTA - Government through Government Regulation No 60/2016 on Non-Tax Revenues has raised rates several products in the police sector services such as vehicle registration certificates (STNK) a nd vehicle ownership documents (BPKB).
Indonesian Consumers Foundation (YLKI) mentions, increase in the maintenance of proper vehicle registration and BPKP not right decision yet.
Chairman of YLKI Executive Committee, Tulus Abadi explained, vehicle registration and driver's license is not a product of commercial services, but public services which must be provided bureaucracy. The reason for inflation will be appropriate if the product is a commercial economy based product production cost and benefit.
"Or at least products which managed by SOEs," said Tulus in Jakarta, Wednesday (4/1).
Tulus added that the tariff increase is less relevant without the reform process in the ministry. Until this moment, process of vehicle registration and BPKB still often complained by public cause need long time for service.
