JAKARTA - Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) defined as suspect in the alleged blasphemy case.
Kabareskrim, Commissioner General Pol Ari Dono Sukmanto revealed, based on the results of his case of alleged defamation of religion is raised to the level of investigation.
"We set Ahok as a suspect. Determination of these cases there is no pressure from any side," said Ari Dono at Police Headquarters, Wednesday (16/11).
Ari said, there is some evidence to make Ahok set suspects that, based on the video recording of the speech Ahok the Thousand Islands and several documents as evidence of the base.
Police Chief, Gen. Tito Karnavian admitted if the case investigator also experienced disagreements when will decide the status of the suspect for Ahok.
"There desenting in the opinion of the investigator, but the majority decided as suspect. The team has also been set to raise the status of the investigation into the investigation. And suspect also prevented from traveling abroad," said Tito at Police Headquarters, Jakarta.
Tito call if investigators have not set detention for Ahok because there is no strong evidence in this case.
"Prevention is also done to make it easier for investigators to call when investigating the case. From our no worries suspect will remove evidence of repeat offenses and the same thing," said Tito.
