RIO DE JANEIRO - This Paris Saint-Germain stopper has cemented his return to the Selecao after keeping his place in the squad ahead of November's World Cup qualifers.
Thiago Silva has cemented his international return after being named in the Brazil squad for November’s World Cup qualifying double-header against Argentina and Peru.
Coach Tite brought the PSG defender back last month after a year in the international wilderness under previous coach Dunga, though he remains behind Miranda and Marquinhos in the pecking order.
Bayern Munich’s player, Douglas Costa has also returned to the squad and is hoping to make his first appearance under the new coach after missing Brazil’s previous two squads due to injury. Forced to sit out of both Copa America 2016 and the Rio Olympics, he has not appeared for Brazil since March.
Real Madrid player, Casemiro is back after being forced to withdraw from last month’s group that earned back-to-back victories over and is hoping to force his way back into what is a hotly-contested midfield three.
The only real change from last month’s squad is that Chelsea’ Oscar has been replaced by Sao Paulo’s player, Rodrigo Caio.
Gabriel Jesus is Brazil’s leading scorer under the Tite, with four goals in four appearances, and he will join up with Neymar in attack, while Willian and Philippe Coutinho will battle it out to join the duo in a front-three.
The five-time world champions host Argentina at the Mineirao in Belo Horizonte on November 10 before travelling to the Estadio Nacional in Lima on November 15.
The Selecao top South America’s 10-team qualifying group for Russia 2018 after new boss Tite got their campaign back on track by kicking off his tenure with four consecutive victories.
