PITTSBURGH - The lead writer of the Wonder Woman comics dropped a bombshell on readers this week. He revealing the superhero is bisexual.
Fans have long suspected the superhero’s sexuality but this is the first time it’s been confirmed.
In an interview with Comicosity, writer Greg Rucka talked about their vision for Wonder Woman.
He told them, “Are we saying Diana has been in love and had relationships with other women? Then the answer is obviously yes.”

Rucka isn’t ruling out the potential for a romantic relationship with Steve Trevor, Wonder Woman’s love interest in previous incarnations of the character.
"It’s supposed to be paradise," Rucka explains.
"You’re supposed to be able to live happily. You’re supposed to be able — in a context where one can live happily, and part of what an individual needs for that happiness is to have a partner — to have a fulfilling, romantic and sexual relationship. And the only options are women," he added.
"But an Amazon doesn’t look at another Amazon and say, 'You’re gay.' They don’t. The concept doesn’t exist," he continues.
"Now, are we saying Diana has been in love and had relationships with other women? As Nicola [Scott, Rucka's artist and collaborator] and I approach it, the answer is obviously yes."
Don't expect Wonder Woman to make some big proclamation about her sexuality, though.
"For my purposes, that’s bad writing," notes Rucka, adding, "We want to show you these characters and their lives, and what they are doing. We want to show, not tell."
Wonder Woman returned to the big screen this year in “Batman v. Superman.” A standalone film starring Gal Gadot is set to hit theaters in June of next year.
