JAKARTA - D.P.O (Detacment Police Operation) movie ultimately remain released even the main film character, Gatot Brajamusti on hold due to cases of drugs and illegal possession of firearms after elected as Chairman of PARFI some time ago.
The film tells efforts of an elite team which chasing Satam, a drug kingpin who has long wanted by Interpol is impressed as ambiguos by a true story of main actors who actually caught by drug case.
That items as 'justified' by director of D.P.O, LM Belgant. He was disappointed with the case that ensnared Gatot Brajamusti.
"What I want from this film is a good image. A character who protection for all people as a destroyer of evil. That's what I want to create. But (Gatot) unexpectedly stumbled on this problem. Who would not be disappointed? Definitely disappointed. In personal actually, Gatot is a good person, just I do not know if anyone this problem. Obviously, it's personal problems and has nothing to the movie," said Belgant at premiere of DPO movie in Jakarta, Thursday (15/9).
He added, not only to feel disappointed. He also claimed to give up cooperation with Gatot.
"It is the first and my last collaboration with Gatot. For the next, I was no longer willing to work together. To be honest for me to cooperate with him many obstacles which I faced. The obstacles are indeed similar to what was said Dedi Setiadi (film director Azrax also starring Billy). I'll spare you, and I think this is quite clear that this is my last project cooperation with him," he said.
During the filming D.P.O, Belgant very constrained with Gatot. Belgant rate, Gatot less discipline.
"I think as a player he was less disciplined and sometimes make emotions. And the schedule was indeed long delayed. However, as a director I try to firmly and do not want to play games as the name of security and property shooting," he said.
The film also was marred boycott which is the impact of legal cases being experienced Gatot Brajamusti.
"Our party had already met Billy, he says go ahead film. We also did not no intention temporize," said Donny Ramadan, the producer of Putaar Films.
About boycott problem, Donny explained the incident are exists.
"There are contacts to XXI, some parties also requested canceled DPO movie slot. But Thank God it did not happen," Donny added.
There irony indeed, the latest film tells story of combating crime, even the middle of the main star entangled with major criminal cases.
