JAKARTA - There are two reasons why the Melayu music lovers should come to Jakarta Melayu Festival (JMF) 2016 at Ancol Beach City on August 20, 2016.

"First, there is the famous movie soundtracks that will be arrangements into
Melayu music," said producer and originator of JMF 2016, Geisz Chalifah in press confrence JMF 2016 in Jakarta, Wednesday (10/8).

About the song's title,
Geisz did not want to be too call detailed. He only gives leak if that soundtrack song from Latin music, but will be in arransmen into Melayu music and will be hosted by two guitarists.

The second reason, further Geisz, is going to the collaboration of two former ministers Jokowi
cabinet in this event, namely former Minister of Education and Culture (Mendikbud), Anies Baswedan and former Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning Minister/Head of BPN, Ferry Mursyidan Baldan.

"It's not only now Anies and Ferry involved. They both
had JMF initiated since the beginning," said Geisz.

This event may also be a moment
to pull over from tumultuous politics for Anies and Ferry which newly reshuffled.

"In music there is lyric,
lyric that gets stuck in our subconscious. And the power of Melayu music is in lyric which full of moral messages and beauty," said Anies related to his involvement in JMF.

While Ferry admitted, if the Melayu music proved successful as a bridge to 'solve' the problem.

"
Melayu music can be healing for my parents when sick. I listened Melayu songs such as the 'Seroja' or 'Di Ambang Sore'. And it's proven to be one way to cure the disease. Because of psychology that werw sick became happy," said Ferry.

He also revealed that Melayu culture is also effective as a bridge when formulation
the Law of Aceh with Gerakan Aceh Merdeka (GAM).

"They do not want use Indonesian and English. When offered to use their
Melayu language, they (GAM) want," he said.

Both Ferry and Anies agreed if challenge to make
Melayu music still exist quite heavy.

"It's a cultural movement, our legacy," said Ferry.

"Efforts to introduce
Melayu music to children should be early. Do not be introduced after growing up when they've got a sense of favorite music, even while forced to introduce it," said Anies.
