JAKARTA - Dangdut singer, Saipul Jamil was summoned by National Anti Graft Agency (KPK) on Monday (18/7). He should answer questions about an allegation that he had bribed a North Jakarta District Court official to get a favorable ruling in his sexual assault trial.
Saipul arrived at KPK office in Jakarta today with not make a statement and refused to answer questions.
KPK spokesman, Priharsa Nugraha said investigators intend to find out the source of Saipul money allegedly used to bribe court registrar, Rohadi.
Rohadi was named a suspect last month for allegedly receiving Rp 250 million ($18,750) in kickbacks from two of Saipul's lawyers, Bertha Natalia and Kasman Sangaji, as well as from his brother Samsul Hidayatullah.
"Our investigators will ask Saipul if he knows where the money, which was allegedly given to bribery suspect Rohadi came from,” Priharsa said.
KPK alleges that Rohadi acted as a middleman in the bribery case and that judge Ifa Sudewi, the deputy head of the North Jakarta District Court and court spokesman Hasoloan Sianturi might also have been involved.
Earlier, Saipul lawyer, Nazarudin Lubis calls if his klien ready to receive KPK calls about alleged of bribery case related to his case.
"Saipul will explain everything, including the matter of the house sells. If it's the house that's not against the law because it was his own house," said Nazarudin.
