SAINT DENNIS - Spain will be face Italy in the last 16 at the Euro 2016 in France, they will face a lot of unwanted challenges.
In a rerun of the Euro 2012 final, the two sides meet in Paris, after La Roja defeat to Croatia cost them top spot in Group D, despite being early tournament favourites.
Having won the title in 2008 and then in that game four years later, their chances of yet more glory have taken a hit having been put in the same half of the draw as Germany, France and England as well as the Azzurri.
Here are five things Italy could threaten Vicente Del Bosque's side:
1. Counter Attacks
Conte's men will look to win the ball as early as possible with high pressure and break at pace, pushing the likes of Gerard Pique and Sergio Busquets back to their own goal.
2. Defence
It may not be very surprising, but Italy's defence is extremely strong, with Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini forming a solid partnership in front of Juventus teammate Gianluigi Buffon.
3. Graziano Pelle and Antonio Candreva
While Candreva may be Italy's chief creator in midfield, he offers a physical presence which could get an advantage over Spain's opposite numbers. Strength and ability in the air are Pelle's best qualities, too, and he'll undoubtedly cause the Spanish defenders real problems throughout.
4. The Bench
Substitutions play a big role in any game, but Italy have used there's excellently so far at this tournament, with the likes of Simone Zaza and Thiago Motta able to make a real difference late on in games.
5. Closing Stages
Italy have struck late on in games, while Spain suffered heartache against Croatia. Tactically, the Azzurri are very astute, with a good team ethic, and their chances of victory will only grow as time goes on.
