CHANTILLY - Just like England in their opening match against Russia on Saturday, it seems that Wayne Rooney just couldn't quite hold on until the end. The striker was spotted taking a comfort break on the golf course today as he played with team-mates ahead of England's clash with Wales.
Rooney wasn't on the pitch when Russia stole a final-minute goal in their opening Euro 2016 game, forcing England to walk away with just one point after an otherwise strong performance.
But Rooney will have his own reasons to blush after being pictured at the side of the course near their training ground in Chantilly, France.
Rooney was out with midfielder James Milner and goalkeeper Joe Hart, who played the round to relax ahead of the crucial match with Wales tomorrow.
Joe Hart was wearing a striped polo shirt and tracksuit bottoms while Rooney and Milner wore their blue and red England training kits.
They drove around the course in a white golf buggy and Hart was seen chipping a ball onto the green, when Rooney broke off from the pack.
Rooney made his way to the side of the course, protecting his modesty with what looked like a bin as he relieved himself in the bushes.
He then walked away adjusting his tracksuit bottoms as he sauntered back to the golf buggy and rejoined his party.
It's not the first time pictures from off the pitch have caught people's attention during the tournament after a video of his wrinkle-free forehead sparked botox rumours.
The 30 year old captain recorded a heartfelt message earlier this week in a bid to encourage supporters to stay 'safe and sensible' during the team's next Euro 2016 clash.
But the clip triggered a rumour mill that the father-of-three - who has already had a transplant to replace his thinning hair - had splashed out on the skin-smoothing product.
The captain recorded the message (left, and right with furrowed brow in 2009) in a bid to encourage supporters to stay 'safe' after violence on Saturday
A Twitter user called Lauren wrote: 'Wayne Rooney has had very obvious Botox and his eyebrows done. It's not a good look.'
"Watching Wayne Rooney just then, I suspect he's had a drop of Botox btwn his eyes/middle forehead. Flat area. Lines either side move," Jules Wheeler wrote.
The footballer had a follicular transfer in which hairs are moved from donor areas – usually at the back of the head – and then replanted in bald areas.
He had previously written about his hair loss in his autobiography, but has always denied having Botox.
