JAKARTA - Tax Amnesty Bill at House of Representative (DPR) still blocked caused three main issues. First, the legislative and the executive has not synchronization in the discussion Tax Amnesty draft. Second, still prop the interests of employers and the government. Executive Director Center for Indonesian Taxation Analysis (CITA), Yustinus Prastowo calls, in principle than as an instrument to boost the tax revenue, Tax Amnesty is expected to broaden the base of taxation data, encourage repatriation of capital and increase the amount of the tax payer and is expected to boost tax compliance.
"But happening right now there are still institutional gap in the government between the President who viewed Tax Amnesty policy as repatriation and the Minister of Finance is viewed as an attempt to patch up the budget," said Yustinus in public discussion "Measuring the Implementation of Tax Amnesty in Indonesia" in Jakarta, Thursday (9/6).
He continued, which is important in this policy even after the enactment of the law enforcement.
"After the remission of tax, whether it really is no vigorous enforcement. If law enforcement mushy, then no one wants to join the amnesty," said Yustinus.
He admitted that the government has yet to implement effective enforcement against delinquent taxes. Only petty tax payers are dealt with taking hostages. If the government is firm in enforcing the law, then in a year can examine two percent of naughty tax payers.
