'Selamat Makan - Let's Cook Indonesian Food' Nominated in World Gourmand Cookbook Awards

JAKARTA - Book titled "Selamat Makan - Let's Cook Indonesian Food" issued by the Indonesia Ministry of Tourism and compiled by Spice it Up! Indonesia team have strong chance become one of the best books Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2016, the annual awards the most prestigious culinary books in the world today.
Winner announcement events of the best books will be held in the city of Yantai, China at the end of May 2016. The book 'Selamat Makan' prepared by Spice it Up became the nominee (Short List) Best Culinary Travel Book.
In addition to this book there are two books that go into Short List, namely; 30 Indonesian Traditional Culinary Icons written by Bondan Winarno, in the category of Special Awards, and also have the support of the Ministry of Tourism and book Trailing the Taste of Gorontalo, published by Omar Niode Foundation in the category of Best Asian Cuisine Book and Best Charity and Fund Raising Cookbook.
"We are so proud and happy at the same enthusiasm that the book Welcome Dinner included in the list of nominations Gourmand Awards are very prestigious," said Noviendi Makalam, Deputy Assistant Foreign Tourism Marketing Communication Development, Ministry of Tourism in Jakarta, recently.
He continued, with competing along with 12 other countries in the category Books Best Culinary Travel, expected this book along with two books from other Indonesian nominee can achieve the best in this special occasion.

"Books of 'Selamat Makan' also participated in the Frankfurt Book Fair 2015. This book is distributed to 1100 students from Europe who followed the Classroom of the Future program," said Noviendi.
Meanwhile, Kesty Pringgoharjono from drafting team Spice it Up! Indonesia says Tim Spice it Up! very happy with the election of a shortlist of books Happy Spot Gourmand Book Award in 2016. Gourmand World Cookbook Awards is an award initiated by Edouard Cointreau, a descendant of Cointreau and Remy Martin family who have owned wineries in France since 1270. In addition Edouard is still considered to be descendants of Rabelais, a famous French writer in the 16th century , Gourmand Awards given since 1995 began.
This award was held to give recognition and respect for the author and publisher of books on culinary and culture from around the world.
The media often compares Gourmand Awards same as Oscars Awards which given for film industry because of similarities glamor, television and full publication little drama for the nominees that have won the award.
This year the committee Gourmand World Cookbook Awards received over 20,000 entries from 209 countries books which competed in 92 categories of cookbooks and culinary culture as well as 29 categories Wine & Drinks.
