JAKARTA - Government said that sexual crimes against children is an extraordinary crime and for it to be faced with the extraordinary steps, including making the Regulation in Lieu of Law (Perppu) gelding punishment for rapists. This like green light for application of penalties to make sexual offenders deterrent
"Immediately coordination so that there is a decision, which includes the law or decree emasculated," President Joko Widodo said while chairing a plenary Cabinet meeting at the State Palace on Tuesday (10/5).
President issued a stern warning against the perpetrators of sexual violence against children by asking subordinates took comprehensive and coordinated measures inter-related, police and judiciary. President felt this step must be done because the figures and events of sexual crimes are increasingly alarming.
"Menko to coordinate to make decisions that actually be a deterrent for the perpetrators and can eliminate the desire of candidates other actors," the president said in his ministers, following a high sexual violence against children where recently a junior high school student in Bengkulu died horribly after being raped by 14 youths.
12 of the 14 youths had been arrested, while the other two fugitives. Seven actors of whom are minors, while the other five were grown.
Seven of the 12 suspected perpetrators of rape and murder in Padang Ulak Slam, Rejanglebong Regency, Bengkulu, have vonis 10 years in prison.
