JAKARTA - Papers Panama scandal recently quite horrendous the international world, including Indonesia. But apparently there are financial scandal allegedly more horrendous possibility again of Panama Papers.
This was disclosed by economic observers Gadjah Mada University (UGM), Revrisond Baswir. He called the Panama Papers data also reveal the Indonesian people is not too full.
He continued, there is a document that is horrendous again that Singapore Papers. This document contains the data of super rich Indonesia people. He suspects more data revealed, if the data of Singapore was opened to the public.
"For Indonesia, Singapore is actually much more strategic than financial centers offshore more," he said in a discussion in Jakarta, recently.
Based on the data he had, Singapore is ranked fourth in the world's largest offshore financial matter.
"Singapore will even surpass Switzerland as a tax haven countries (tax havens)," he said.
The amount of funding foreign nationals stationed in Singapore reached 70 percent of total bank funds contained in the country. And about 30-50 percent, is expected from Indonesia.
"So if there is Singapore Papers will be more willing and more powerful impact on us," said Revrisond.
So if the government responds to this by speeding Panama Papers deliberations Forgiveness Tax (Tax Amnesty), it is considered as a wrong action. Therefore, the exchange of information on tax transparency (Automatic Exchange of Tax Information (AEOI) and the Common Reporting Standards (CRS) will take effect in September 2017.
"Thus, the preparation of draft Tax Amnesty should be wary as a trick offshore account holders to save themselves from the trap of implementing the policy," he added.
