JAKARTA - Football governance reforms and competition which expected by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) does not seem to be running. That's because operator of Indonesian Soccer Championship (ISC), PT Gelora Trisula Semesta (GTS) can not be transparent.
In ISC ceremony launching in Jakarta, Monday (18/4), President Director of PT GTS, Joko Driyono flatly refused answer the value of sponsorship.
"The value is quite large, but sorry its value can not tell you. Sorry," said Joko.
When mentioned that he was not transparent, Joko say apologized again and could not mention the value.
"Hmm..sorry, I can not," he said as he turned the conversation.
Joko's statement recalls the public lover of Indonesia football when he also became CEO of PT Liga Indonesia (LI), carriers Indonesia Super League (ISL). Joko shut amount of income for PT LI, so that there is no transparency.
He only announced the number of its expenditure and not clear how much profit or loss. Therefore, participating clubs of ISL finally is not transparent with finances that make a lot of clubs collapsed due to the financial balance sheet is obscure.
ISC could be days away to find financial matters such as the ISL first.
