HO CHI MINH CITY - Six month old, Le Pham Kha Di has made a huge splash online after her parents dressed her up in full mermaid garb and photographed her flapping around by a pool in her home town of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Becoming a mermaid is every young girls dream but for this chubby cheeked tot it’s an adorabubble reality.
And while she might not be able to breathe underwater this tiny siren of the sea is giving her Disney counterpart Ariel a swim for her money and leaving young girls across the globe green with envy. The child wore a black bob wig with a fringe, a bikini top and a slightly rough around the edges knitted turquoise fishtail in her bite-sized impersonation of the mythical sea siren.
Her parents were inspired after seeing the 2016 film ‘The Mermaid’ produced by iconic Hong Kong director Stephen Chow which tells the story of a rich Chinese businessman who falls in love with a mermaid.
High profile movie star Anita Yuen said on the Chinese Twitter equivalent Weibo she could not help but share the images of chubby mermaid before regretfully admitting it was not her child.
