Breastfeeding Her Son at Zoo, Female Orangutan Watch so Proud

MELBOURNE - A rare and unexpected events occur in Melbourne Zoo, yesterday. Two orangutans have shared an ‘emotional moment’ with a mother as she breastfed her baby outside their enclosure and watched on in amazement.
774 ABC Melbourne reported, Elizabeth and family had been visiting Melbourne Zoo to celebrate her three year old daughter’s birthday when she began breastfeeding 13 week old son, Eli.
She’d walked around a corner to ensure some privacy, when two orangutans came over to watch and locked eyes with Elizabeth.
"I went around the corner to be a bit private and I was breastfeeding and this orangutan locked eyes with me and came over to check out what was going on," she told the ABC radio station.
The mother said a second, older this original animal from Indonesia then joined.
"She came over and gave me a bit of a nod. It was absolutely amazing. I felt so proud and I felt she was proud of me," she says.
She said she felt it was particularly special as she’d been unable to breastfeed her first child. Other locals and tourists at the zoo then gathered around Elizabeth and watched ‘in awe of what was going on’.
For note, 13 week old Eli has red hair, and the orangutans may have mistaken the baby for a baby orangutan.
