JAKARTA - Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) will decide on a new location that will serve from 2017 to 2019 MotoGP circuit on Friday (29/1).

"On Friday, we will be meeting again to decide on a replacement for the Sentul Circuit, if GBK not be a MotoGP," said Deputy Division V Harmonization and Partnership Kemenpora, Gatot S. Dewabroto on Thursday (28/1).

He argues there are currently three locations that have "glimpsed" the government, among which are Jakarta, Palembang, and one location in West Java that which not been willing to release by Kemenpora.

Furthermore, Gatot explained Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) in Jakarta under consideration to replace the President Joko Widodo Sentul International Circuit, as a location for holding of the prestigious motor racing. However, the limitations of facilities and opportunities for disruption of 2018 Asian Games preparation, into a number of obstacles that arise if the race was held in GBK.

Gatot also said that Palembang, South Sumatra, then become candidates for the introduction of a new circuit, with a path length of about 900 to 1000 meters and width of 14 meters.

"We have not decided to it, Palembang is indeed an option, because the condition is minimal land provided the status of state property (BMN), and it was there (Palembang)," he added.

Furthermore, the man who also served as the Head of Public Communication also explains the
Kemenpora reason which choose location at West Java cause consideration that the location of the race close to the capital. The third area, said Gatot, the plan will be evaluated Kemenpora, to be decided upon and passed in the meeting of ministers, until the President Joko Widodo.

"When it was decided, would be made a new circuit there, the construction is done in one year," he added.
