JAKARTA - Suddenly, President Director of PT Freeport Indonesia, Maroef Sjamsoeddin resigned from his post which had been carried for one year. In a memo sent to the management of Freeport, dated January 18, 2016, the former head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) refused tenure extend an offer from the leadership of Freeport McMoran.
Letter submission of his resignation also has the submission to the management of mining companies from the United States (US). When confirmed Sindonews, Freeport spokesman Riza Pratama acknowledged that the officer has submitted his resignation from this Uncle Sam mining giant.
"Yes he (Maroef Sjamsoeddin, red) resign (Freeport, red)," in short to Sindonews in Jakarta, Monday (18/1).
Until now, unknown motive behind this former Air Force General resigned. Until this news was revealed, Riza Pratama has yet to answer a short message sent via Whatsapp Messenger application.
For your information, the Young Marshal (Ret.) Maroef Sjamsoeddin is Freeport Indonesia President Director and retired high ranking Air Force Special Forces who is a graduate of the Air Force Academy in 1980.
After retiring from the military, on January 7, 2015, he became President of Freeport Indonesia, replacing ROZIK B. SOETJIPTO who retire. During his military career, he served as commander of Squadron 465 Paskhas, Defence Attache to Brazil, the Director of Counter Separatist BIN BIN Hankam Sahli and Deputy Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) during the 2011-2014 period.
He earned a Master of Business Administration from the Jakarta Institute of Management Studies. Maroef offered directly into Freeport Indonesia President Director by the Chairman of the Board Freepor-McMoRan, James Robert Moffett (Jim Bob), after previously seeing its performance when it still served as Deputy Chief of BIN in handling the strike at Freeport mine in 2011.
