Illiterate Worker from Cirebon Lost in Jordan

CIREBON - Face of Arma (61), a resident of Block Sidingklik, RT 026/009, Buyut Village, District Gunungjati, Cirebon, looked concerned. He was worried about her daughter Sriwati (27) were lost without trace to Jordan in 2009.
He suspected his son are victims of recruitment of Indonesian Workers (TKI) illegal. Instead of returning home, Sriwati has not been done communication with her family.
Sriwati themselves illiterate. Arma recounts, the sixth of seven children had gone to Jordan when he was 20 years old. Since then, none received news Arma and her family.
Remittances from work Sriwati in Jordan is also gone.
"When departing, it is only 20 years old. But by the sponsor (The dispatcher Sriwati) so the elder age 22 years," he said, Friday (11/12).
The sponsor is meant Arma, named Thomas, one of the neighboring villages, namely Wanakaya in District Gunungjati. It was he who took care needs Sriwati before leaving for Jordan, including the lure of high salaries for Sriwati.
"He said Sriwati could receive a salary 1.5 million," said Arma, with inserts Cirebon strong language.
Losing Sriwati make Arma working to find out the conditions by visiting the sponsor. However, the sponsor gave a phone number employer Sriwati who works in Jordan. But each time the number was reached, there was no response.
Arma and families up to now failed to find out the news Sriwati. Fear the family would be bad conditions and situations that may befall Sriwati reasoned. Sriwati illiterate, education is not the time to completion third class of elementary school (SD).
According to Arma, in addition to economic conditions, Sriwati quit school because of embarrassment with his friends.
"He could only write his own name," said Arma.
Sriwati decided a migrant worker after briefly conversing with friends. From the conversation, a friend Sriwati then introduce it to the sponsors, namely Thomas.
Originally, there were three people who went to Jordan along Sriwati. But the other two departed canceled and only Sriwati fixed to Jordan. While Thomas when asked always dodged do not know.
For Sriwati, Arma alone has spent millions of money he borrowed from a loan shark.
"The loan continues to bloom, do not know how to pay it off. What are my sales during this time to pay the mortgage," he added.
Arma hope, Dept. of Manpower and Transmigration (Manpower) to check on his son who is now thought to be in Jordan.
"His mother, Nartasi (50) Sriwati dreams sometimes come home," he concluded.
Separately, Head of Manpower Cirebon, Denny Agustin ensure, migrant workers must be able to read and write (literacy). If Sriwati illiterate, so his departure should not be done.
"Prospective migrant workers must be able to read and write. We will check the Indonesian worker data at Cirebon, is there Sriwati name. If it were not, it could be illegal," he concluded.
