Tourist spot which is also commonly known as Butta Salewangang is located approximately 40 kilometers north of Makassar and can be reached by road using vehicles with a travel time of approximately two hours drive from Makassar. This attraction in the form of natural attractions and very easy to reach because it is only a few meters from the highway across the province.
Rammang-Rammang meaning of the word itself, comes from the local language which means clouds or fog. It can be concluded that the meaning of the word rammang-rammang is a set of cloud or fog. According to the story the locals, this place was named Rammang-Rammang due to cloud or fog that is always down, especially in the morning or when it rains.
