JAKARTA - Because her success to uncover the identity of members of parliament who allegedly profiteer name of President and Vice President, Metro TV presenter, Najwa Shihab will be reported to the police by Criminal Court Honor Board (MKD).
To be known, Najwa is the first journalist to reveal that the person who reported the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said to MKD is Chairman of the House Novanto. Najwa interviewed directly Sudirman.
Hearing this news, General Chairman of the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) Margiono spoke. According Margiono, Najwa should be rewarded, not even reported to the police.
"I do not have to (be reported to the police, red) because no crime has been violated, there is no crime. That is done (Najwa) work of journalism that according to the basic values of journalism, and according to a code of ethics," said Margiono recently.
Said him, in the interview process Najwa does not violate journalistic ethics. Najwa actually doing good journalistic work. She successfully perform its obligation to provide information to the public so transparn circulating in the community is not just a rumor.
"Clarifying the issue, clear clicking the problems that need to be publicly known fact that the obligation of the press. Rumors have to be explained to the document, with the evidence. It was a special journalistic work," he explained.
On that basis, said Margiono, Najwa should be awarded.
"It is certain that there is never an ethical violation. Reporters interviewed have source of authority to deliver it. In fact, if you ask us, Najwa Shihab should be awarded," conclude him.
