Nine Balinese Dance Proposed For World Cultural Heritage Establishment

DENPASAR - Bali province will send three dancers in a UNESCO meeting in Namibia, Africa, regarding a proposed nine Balinese dance into the World Cultural Heritage in early December 2015.
"Three dancers that later will bring nine dance performance that had previously been proposed. They will be accompanied by Prof I Wayan Dibia, professor of Indonesian Arts Institute (ISI) Denpasar," said Head of Bali Provincial Cultural Office, Dewa Putu Beratha in Denpasar as released Antara.
Nine balinese dance which proposed for establishment as a World Cultural Heritage is the Barong Ket, Dancing Joged, Legong Kraton, Drama Wayang Wong Dance, Dance Drama Gambuh, Mask Sidakarya, Line Ceremony, Dance Trance and Dance Rejang.
"The trial determination by UNESCO later about 1-2 December 2015. We sincerely hope the nine dances that can be set as WBD (World Cultural Heritage) so it will not easily claimed by other parties," he said.
Dewa Beratha added, if they already have a dance ninth establishment of a UN agency in charge of education, science and culture (UNESCO) it is incumbent on all parties in Bali to keep it.
"In addition, the culture would still be alive if acted upon by the society. Cultural acted any otherwise would be dead," he said.
Earlier, on October 20, 2015, nine dance has also been set to get a certificate of Cultural Heritage Objects Indonesia submitted by the Minister of Basic Education, Secondary and Culture, Anies Baswedan.
Bali get a certificate of Cultural Heritage Objects of Indonesia to 12 works of culture, nine of which dance and three other cultural works is in the form of fabrics Gringsing Tenganan, Art Kamasan and Weaving Endek Bali.
On the other hand, the Director General of Culture of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Kacung Marijan also stated very hopeful nine dance proposed in order to really set by UNESCO.
"We ask the prayers of all parties hopefully it will be fixed. But so far we have not received the related leaks, hopefully so," said Kacung Marijan.
