JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) received visit of Governor and Vice Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Rasyid Baswedan and Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta on Wednesday (24/10).
So, what did the former Jakarta Governor discuss with Anies-Sandi?
Jokowi said that the meeting discussed the problem of traffic jam and flood. He advised Anies-Sandi for the construction of Mass Rapid Transportation (MRT) project to be checked continuously. Then the sidewalks and streets of Jakarta are all clean.
According Jokowi, it needs to be done Anies-Sandi because in 2018, Jakarta will be the organizer of the Asian Games. About 30 thousands of guests and athletes will come to the Indonesia capital. Thus, the preparation should be accelerated.
"Do not look fit for the Asian Games we are still digging up, is not it .. Not still build on the roadside, it must be clean, that's what I ordered," said Jokowi in Jakarta on Thursday (26/10).
Next, Jokowi said, he asked Anies-Sandi to speed up mass transportation in Jakarta. Therefore, the impact of loss congestion is estimated to reach Rp28 trillion per year. He requested that Jakarta's new leaders concentrate on completing, including land acquisition issues.
Then related to the arrangement of slum areas, this former mayor of Solo is asking to be continued. Thus, Jakarta can have a good city arrangement, good spatial and greening. Therefore, the budget for it is not small.
Another thing he emphasized to Anies-Sandi was related to the flood. He requested that the available Flood Channel be functioned properly. Then tunnel from Ciliwung to the Western Canal Floods there are still 12 locations that have not been free. It is also he ordered to immediately followed up his release to reduce the flood in Jakarta. This is because if when the Ciliwung river overflows, the water can be opened, so it slips into the East Flood Canal.
"Then it is also related to Sukamahi reservoir in Ciawi too, but that central government will soon be done so that the water coming from above that we can intercept in the reservoir, that is old program, but it will be done by Jakarta when I was governor, then move in. We take over this our working, so it will reduce the flood. This keeps improving what has not been good," he said.
