CILEGON - The National Defense Forces (TNI) remains loyal to the Unitary Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), Pancasila state ideology, and 1945 Constitution.
"Utilizing the momentum offered by TNI's (72nd anniversary) today, let me reiterate (our commitment) that the TNI will always stay loyal by upholding the soldiers oath. As President had stated earlier, for us, loyalty to the Unitary Republic of Indonesia, 1945 Constitution, and Pancasila is pivotal and is strongly rooted in the body and soul of every TNI soldier," TNI Chief, General Gatot Nurmantyo stated at the commemoration of TNI's 72nd anniversary which attended by President Joko Widodo and Vice President Jusuf Kalla at Cilegon, Banten Province on Thursday (5/10).
Nurmantyo said TNI's politics is that of the state, the one dedicated to realizing a firm and strong Unitary Republic of Indonesia by complying with the law.
"It is also the one that always puts the peoples interests above all and is loyal to the superior, the president of the Republic of Indonesia, who is legitimately elected in accordance with the Constitution," he noted.

Addressing the commemoration of TNI's 72nd anniversary, President Widodo praised the TNI for its dedication to the state and nation and expressed gratitude to all soldiers for their commitment, professionalism and dedication.
"I should like to express my sincere gratitude to the TNI for its continued efforts to improve its professionalism, to the ranks and files of the TNI for their commitment to sticking to the soldiers oath, and to the TNI soldiers for their dedication to perform their formidable and risky duties," president said.
As late General Sudirman had stated, TNI's politics prioritizes the state and the soldiers loyalty in the best interests of the country, he remarked.
"Loyalty in the best interests of the state and nation means being devoted to a struggle for the peoples interests, keeping the Unitary Republic of Indonesia united, and staying loyal to the legitimate government," he said.
At this TNI's 72nd Anniversary, various latest and most sophisticated equipment and weapons displayed at the event included the Apache Combat Helicopter, South Korean-made submarine KRI Nagapasa 403, flag ship KRI RE Martadinata, and anti-submarine helicopter Panther. Combat platforms performed various maneuvers and acrobatics, such as Apaches air-to-sea rapid fire demonstration.
Moreover, other vehicles, such as the amphibious Arisgator Tank, Multiple Launch Rocket System Astros H MK-6, and 155 Caesar Cannon all shot their salvos on the targets.
In the aerial department, Russian-made Sukhoi SU-27/30 Flankers and the US-made F-16 A/B Fighting Falcon fighter deployed flare decoys and bomb bursts. Two of each type of fighter jets also performed air-to-air fights, or "dog fights," for some six minutes.
The performances of the weapon platforms coupled with the splendor of the armed forces drew the applause and awe of the public.

The TNI Army and Ground Forces showcased nine local-made Anoa armored vehicles and British M113 Al Tanks, 10 Marder 2A1 tanks and 8x8 Pandur II, three Arisgators, nine German-made Leopard Tanks, nine Tarantula Tanks, a 105 MM Pandur, a Kaplan Tank, and a Rhino-Armored Vehicle.
Moreover, nine MLRS Astros H MK-6 and 155 Caesar Cannons, 155 M109BE cannons, six M105 105 Cannons, Starstreak Missile, two Colibri Helicopters, and four AH 64-E Apache Combat helicopters were showcased at the event.

Meanwhile, the Navy displayed its Nagapasa 403 Submarine, three SEA Riders, a BMP 3F, a BTR4, and MRLS Norico.
The Air Force, along with the fighter jets, also showcased two Rantis (tactical vehicle) GPS Jammers, two Rantis P6 Atav, a P2 Commando, a Rantis Jihandak, four Oerlikon trucks, and two SMART Hunter units.
