Senyum Restaurant, from Cook and Culinary Lover Person

JAKARTA - Starting from a culinary hobby and traveling around Indonesia, Kimberly Ananto have desire to affirm identity of specialties Indonesian culinary.

From three years traveling around Indonesia, arise the idea of woman who is familiarly called Kim to establish a restaurant with loving Indonesia concept through typical archipelago food and art.

"We bring cuisine coming from various corners of Indonesia to this restaurant by maintaining its originality. Every three week we will change menu, so that visitors do not feel bored," said Kim at the opening of Restaurant Senyum in Jakarta, recently.

Upon opening this restaurant, Kim does her best to maintain originality and consistency of the cuisine.

"So, I moved the authenticity of the cuisine from orign area to this restaurant, including chef, as well as a modern approach, from the village we bring to honorable place," said Kim.

In Senyum restaurant, there are two kinds of menu grouping, namely Indonesia Comfort, there's Indonesian traditional menu choices that public known. Then, Undiscovered Indonesian Food, menu option that public not already known.

"Don't worry, original from the region, spices and chef's," said Kim.

Talking about many similar restaurants that serve Indonesian cuisine, Kim is evasive about what strategy she will use in facing similar restaurants.

"I am not a food and beverage person (F&B), I am just cook and culinary lover person There is no specific strategy to manage this restaurant, but I want to highlight explore, educate and encourage in this restaurant," Kim said.

One more uniqueness that became the attraction of Senyum restaurant is a concept store called Something Academic which presents goods that born from Indonesian culture.

The types of goods or products available have several criteria, such as furniture (moving design), beauty products, fashion, vinyl music, art books as well as painting art.

All goods or products available in the concept store have been curated by a separate team, while for the painting shown has passed the curation process by Agustiawan WR.

"Currently the painting that is on display is the work of Syahrizal Pahlevi, Wara, and Sri Harjanto Sahid. This
painting exhibition will change every three months, and we are opening up opportunities for young artists to submit their work to be exhibited in the concept store and known by the public," Kim said.
