JAKARTA - Police secured rapper Iwa K at Soekarno Hatta Airport because caught carrying three rolls of marijuana. Currently, police are still examining Iwa K and are looking to find out the origin of such illicit goods.
Chief of Drug Units Soekarno Hatta Airport Police, Kompol Martua Silitonga said, Iwa K secured when going to fly to Palembang via terminal 1B Soekarno Hatta Airport. When X-Ray examination, found three rolls of marijuana packed in cigarette packs.
Police, he said still examining Iwa K intensively at the Soekarno Hatta Airport Police Station to find out where the cannabis from.
"Still in the process of investigation to find who gave (marijuana) it," he said when confirmed on Saturday (29/4).
He added, at this time, police planning to bring the evidence of the case to the Central Forensic Laboratory of Police Headquarters for investigated further. From the results of a temporary inspection, the goods who brought by Iwa K in pack of cigarettes contained THC or marijuana.
"We are still conducting examination activities in the form of BAP and checking the initial evidence to Puslabfor," he said.
As is known, Iwa K was caught carrying marijuana at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (Soetta) Tangerang, Banten. Cannabis is hidden in cigarette packs.
Iwa K was secured by Asvec officer at Terminal 1B, upon entering Security Check Point (SCP) 1 at 05.00 am. He plans to fly to Palembang with Lion Air JT 792.
"At first the officer was suspicious of cigarette packet brought by the perpetrator, when examined it was true found three rolls marijuana," said Security, Rescue and Fire Fighting Senior Airport Manager Soetta, Tommy Hadi Bawono, Saturday (29/4).
Furthermore, Avsec officers handed Iwa K along with evidence to the airport police for further inspection.
"We handed the passengers to the police, for violating the law," he added.
