Revealed, Democratic Faction Involvement in e-KTP Project

JAKARTA - Former Democratic Party Treasurer Muhammad Nazaruddin expose the involvment of Democratic Party in the budget project to pass electronic identity card (e-KTP) in House of Representative.
The story began when members of Commission II House of Representatives, Mustokoweni and Ignatius Mulyono facing the chairman of Democratic Party, Anas Urbaningrum in 2009 to describe the e-KTP project. When meet Anas, Nazaruddin said, Mustokoweni and Ignatius details the budget of project.
"At that time, mentioned budget ceiling of more from 6 trillion," said Nazaruddin when testifying in trial of e-KTP corruption case in Corruption Court, Jakarta, Monday (3/4).
Nazaruddin said, the e-KTP project has been running before 2009. However, the budget of Rp 6 trillion newly proposed in the Budget Revised 2010 with a multi-year program. The amount of the proposed budget, said Nazaruddin, need support Democratic Party who was the largest faction in parliament.
Still in mid-2009, Nazaruddin claimed introduced Mustokoweni with businessman Andi Augustinus alias Andi Narogong. Mustokoweni, said Nazaruddin, call Andi as a party that is ready to spend money to secure the budget in Parliament.
Upon the recommendation Mustokoweni, said Nazaruddin, Andi reunited with Anas. The meeting was held in the room of the Democratic Faction, the Parliament Complex, Senayan.
According to Nazaruddin, when met Anas, Andi introduced himself as a businessman which partners with Ministry of Internal Affairs (Kemendagri). Andi said handles many projects in Ministry of Internal Affairs.
During the meeting, Andi also reveal tradeoffs e-KTP project.
"He (Andi) convince Anas capable of working on e-KTP project. Anas then asked for e-KTP card program is supported," said Nazaruddin.
