'Bumiku' Became Official Selection at Socially Relevant Film Festival

JAKARTA - Right at National Music Day Thursday (9/3), good news came from New York, US. Indonesian film by a female director, Natasha Dematra through her musical film 'Bumiku' (Earth) back flying in international festivals.
Socially Relevant Film Festival choosing 'Bumiku' as the Opening Film of the 46 other films in this prestigious festival. With this, 'Bumiku' has done the American Premiere in Socially Relevant Film Festival, New York.
Nora Armani, festival director explained, the election of 'Bumiku' caused this film is considered to reflect quality of the festival with these social issues. The film is in the list of Official Selection in a festival sponsored by Culture Ministry of New York and lasted for 7 days.
46 films from 23 countries will be screened in Cinepolis Luxury Cinemas (where screenings of films from the Tribeca Film Festival). Only 7 films from Asia; Indonesia (Earth), Bhutan (Prophecy), Tibet (Hidden Wisdom), Japan (Wheelchair Dance), China (Destiny), two films from India (Women Prayed and Preyed Upon, 2 Girls).
"Being selected in the Opening Film festival that focuses on social issues I feel honored. Indonesia became the first movie to watch coupled with films from other countries. In connection with the Women's Day, which fell yesterday and the National Music Day which falls today I dedicate this victory to all women's films and musicians throughout Indonesia. I hope in the future, the director in the film industry is no longer dominated by men but also by women," says Nora.
'Bumiku' directed by Natasha Dematra, where the soundtrack is also created by Natasha together senior Abah Ukam songwriter.
Films produced World Environment Movement itself carries a strong message about the dangers of global warming and environmental damage caused by human activity.
