SBY: Antasari 'Attacks' Directly Related to Jakarta Elections

JAKARTA - After reporting to Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) of National Police, former chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Antasari Azhar claimed criminalized by the sixth President, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY).
In response of that, Yudhoyono said, the statement pointed to himself as the actor behind the criminalization of Antasari Azhar is politically charged and a black campaign.
"It's hard not to say that the attacks of slander and character assassination is directly related to the Jakarta elections," said SBY
in his residence, Mega Kuningan, South Jakarta, Tuesday (2/14).
He guess, Antasari black campaign conducted against him and his family had planned. Not only by Antasari, but also by some political actors.
"The goal is clear, that my name and my son is damaged, smudged. Expected in Jakarta election, Agus will lose," said SBY.
This Chairman of the Democratic Party calling it against the background of political upheaval that occurred ahead of Jakarta elections in 2017.
SBY mentioned, since Agus running for governor of Jakarta, the attacks often targeting black campaign SBY and his family.
"I said this a political outstanding. Outstanding our country. Since November, I continued to be attacked and destroyed so AHY lost the election," said SBY.
He said, black campaign occurred in the last seconds ahead of the elections and is done continuously, potentially undermining democracy.
"I have to say, politics is a rough and far from civilization. The power oppressing the weak and helpless," said SBY.
